Aging Coalition of Edmond
The Aging Coalition of Edmond is a nonprofit organization that provides resources and information to the senior population and their families. The Coalition is comprised of community health workers, senior housing experts, nursing home and residential care administrators, academics, business people, social workers, occupational and physical therapists and members of the faith community. Our membership is limited to the Edmond community so we are a small organization. Our mission statement is "To Educate, Serve and Support the Senior Citizens in our Community".
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
The academy provides education and practice management services for orthopaedic surgeons and allied health professionals. It also serves as an advocate for improved patient care and informs the public about the science of orthopaedics. The orthopaedic's scope of practice includes disorders of the body's bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. American College of Rheumatology
The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) is the professional organization of rheumatologists and associated health professionals who share a dedication to healing, preventing disability, and curing the more than 100 types of arthritis and related disabling and sometimes fatal disorders of the joints, muscles, and bones. Members include practicing physicians, research scientists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers.

American Occupational Therapy Association
The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the nationally recognized professional association of occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and students of occupational therapy. These individuals work with people experiencing health problems such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, cancer, congenital conditions, developmental problems, and mental illness. Practitioners work in a wide range of settings including schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, psychiatric facilities, and community health programs.
American Physical Therapy Association
This association is a national professional organization representing physical therapists, allied personnel, and students. Its objectives are to improve research, public understanding, and education in the physical therapies.

This is the major voluntary organization devoted to arthritis. The foundation publishes a free brochure, Coping With Pain, and a monthly magazine for members that provides up-to-date
information on all forms of arthritis. The foundation also can provide addresses and phone numbers for local chapters and physician and clinic referrals.

This association provides information on positive ways to deal with chronic pain and can provide guidelines on selecting a pain management center.
American Pain Society
This society provides general information to the public and maintains a directory of resources, including referrals to pain centers.

This association operates an information clearinghouse offering publications and cassette tapes for people with pain. It also publishes a newsletter that includes information on pain management techniques, coping strategies, book reviews, and support groups.

National Institutes of Health, Osteoporosis and Related Bone Diseases - National Resource Center Osteoporosis and Bone Health
NIH ORBD~NRC was established in 1994 with a grant from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) of the National Institutes of Health to The National Osteoporosis Foundation. Its mission is to provide patients, health professionals, and the public with an important link to resources and information on metabolic bone diseases, including osteoporosis, Paget's disease of the bone, osteogenesis imperfecta, and hyperparathyroidism. The Center is operated by the National Osteoporosis Foundation, in collaboration with The Paget Foundation and the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation.
O-EPIC Employer-Sponsored Insurance

ABLE Tech is Oklahoma's assistive technology project providing information and referral, technical assistance, education, advocacy, and demonstrations. Oklahoma AgrAbility promotes success in agriculture for people with disabilities. Services are: information and referral, on-site farm assessment and technical assistance (modifications, accommodations, and assistive technology), direct education, and peer support.

In-Home Care Services
Offers 2 in-home care programs. The Personal Care Program provides assistance with bathing, grooming, meal preparation, housekeeping and laundry. Services are available up to 7 days a week. The number of hours of service received each day depend upon the needs of the individual. Services are provided through a home health agency by a Personal Care Assistant or Home Health Aide. The ADvantage waiver program offers a wide range of services available in the home and in the community. Certain medical and financial criteria must be met in order to qualify for these programs.
OASIS - Oklahoma Areawide Information System
OASIS provides a statewide information and referral service that can help Oklahomans with special needs and other families in need find community resources. Anyone needing help can call the toll-free number: 800-426-2747 or search our directory from the link below. OASIS has a database of thousands of agencies, organizations and programs throughout the state, and can help people find the services they need in their area. OASIS also has listings of national organizations and agencies as well as local support groups.
