12th Annual Turning Point/Fit Kids Conference--Healthy Communities in Challenging Times

The 12th Annual Turning Point/Fit Kids Conference will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, at the Nigh University Center, University of Central Oklahoma, 100 North University Drive, 3rd Floor, Edmond, OK.  Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with the conference concluding at 4:15 p.m.  

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Nick Yphantides, M.D., from San Diego, CA and author of the book, "My Big Fat Greek Diet."  Throughout his adult life, Dr. Nick constantly battled his weight and the embarrassment of not being able to fit into airline seats and restaurant booths.  Galvanized by poor health and years of humiliation, Dr. Nick set out on an incredible physical and mental weight-loss journey.  In 2001, Dr. Nick traveled 38,000 miles across the United States, visiting 30 major league ballparks and 110 major league baseball games.  During that time he dropped 267 pounds without surgery or medication.
