Pregnant mother with young son hugging her tummyMaternity Program

What is the Maternity Program? The Women’s Health Division is the area within the Maternal and Child Health Service with the responsibility to develop and promote best health practices for women, infants and men’s reproductive health. This includes developing policies and procedures; providing resources, technical assistance, and consultation; and the monitoring of health care services and health status of the target populations.

Routine prenatal care, case management, education, referrals and other services are provided through selected county health departments and contract agency sites. The program also attempts to eliminate barriers to care and ensure services by linking women and teens with other organizations, programs and providers of maternity services. With accessible maternity care, the ultimate goal of the program is healthy mothers and healthy babies.
