What is the Oklahoma Family Planning Program? The Oklahoma Family Planning Program is devoted to providing family planning services to males and females of reproductive age. In collaboration with state and federal agencies, policies and procedures are developed to provide training, guidelines, technical assistance, and oversight to assure services are provided in compliance with federal and state requirements. Services provided for females include physical exams including Pap smears and breast exams, screening for sexually transmitted infections, information on the different contraceptive methods available, pregnancy diagnosis and counseling, and referrals. The program helps males and females make informed decisions regarding family planning services and preconception health screening. The program also promotes family involvement and provides community-based education and outreach activities. Services are provided on a voluntary and confidential basis.
