Maternal and Infant Health Data

MCH Assessment collects information on women and newborn babies to provide evaluation and assessment support for the programs and services administered by the Women’s Health Division.

Data are collected by monitoring services provided by local health departments and community clinics, gathering information from intra-agency, local and national reports, and other surveys.

Surveys administered by MCH Assessment relating to maternal and infant health include:

PRAMS (Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System) – This randomly selected population based survey is administered to mothers of infants aged two to six months and addresses prenatal behaviors, health care access, risk factors, birth outcome, and early infant health.

TOTS (The Oklahoma Toddler Survey) –This population based survey is a follow-up to the PRAMS survey.  Mothers who participated in
PRAMS are surveyed when the baby turns two years old about risk factors, health care access, environmental safety and other health related issues of early childhood.

Family Planning Annual Report (FPAR) - This annual report is required by the Office of Family Planning within the Office of Population Affairs for all family planning services funded in whole or part by federal Title X funds.
