First Grade Health Survey (1GHS)Boy Eating a Pencil Germ Vector

The First Grade Health Survey (1GHS) is designed to assess the health care needs and access issues in an early school-aged population.  The surveys are delivered to parents of public school first graders through the teachers of randomly selected first grade classrooms.  The survey was developed by the Maternal and Child Health Service with the collaboration of MCH partners within OSDH. The survey consists of questions that pertain to the health of a first grader, including general health issues, injuries, and access to/use of insurance or governmental programs. The survey also contains questions about other pertinent factors that play a role in the health of the first grade population in Oklahoma.
