GRANT TITLE: PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS (PSN)

OVERVIEW: Directed by the 94 United States Attorneys throughout the country, Project Safe Neighborhoods is a comprehensive initiative to reduce gun crime in America by bringing together resources from the local, state, and federal levels. The District Attorneys Council, Federal Programs Division serves as the fiscal agent for the U.S. Attorneys in the Western and Northern Districts of Oklahoma.

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for funding, an applicant must be a(n): a) State Agency; b) Unit of Local Government (i.e., city, county, town); c) Tribal Government; or d) Private, Non-profit Community-based Organization.

BOARD PRIORITIES:  The Project Exile Task Force, comprised of ten members, is charged with reviewing grant proposals and determining awards for the grant funds.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION: The deadline for 2006 is 5:00 p.m., March 17, 2006.
