GRANT TITLE: PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS (PSN)

OVERVIEW: Directed by the 94 United States Attorneys throughout the country, Project Safe Neighborhoods is a comprehensive initiative to reduce gun crime in America by bringing together resources from the local, state, and federal levels. The District Attorneys Council, Federal Grants Division serves as the fiscal agent for the U.S. Attorneys in the Western, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma.

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for funding, an applicant must be a(n): a) State Agency; b) Unit of Local Government (i.e., city, county, town); c) Tribal Government; or d) Private, Non-profit Community-based Organization.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION: The deadline for the 2008 Project Safe Neighborhoods application has passed. Depending on federal funding, it is anticipated that grant funds will be available in 2009.
