The Month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH RESOURCE INFORMATION - 2011 

The District Attorneys Council, the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General, and the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assaulthave joined forces to promote the public awareness of the issue of domestic violence in Oklahoma during the month of October, designated as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Several activities have been planned to recognize the month.

A Press Conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011, in the Governor’s Blue Room at the State Capitol.  During the Press Conference there will be opening comments, a reading of the Proclamation for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and presentation of Awards for Excellence in Action Against Domestic Violence to the recipients in the Law Enforcement, Prosecutor, and Victim Services.
