Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Program

The position of Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor (TSRP) is funded through a grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.  The position of TSRP is designed to improve the ability of state's prosecutors to effectively prosecute traffic safety violations, particularly focusing on vehicular homicide, Driving Under the Influence (alcohol and controlled dangerous substances), and vehicle crashes involving personal injuries.

As of April 2005, there are approximately 20 Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors in nineteen (19) states.  The program is endorsed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association and has the complete support of the National Traffic Law Center, the National District Attorneys Association, the National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators and the American Prosecutors Research Institute.
