| Blue Thumb volunteers get together in Oklahoma City for a quality assurance session. Another fun and exciting chance to get together is the 2010 Volunteer Conference coming up in November! |
The Blue Thumb Volunteer Conference for 2010 will be held Nov. 5-6 in Oklahoma City.
With 126 streams being monitored by Blue Thumb volunteer teams across the state, occasional opportunities to bring the volunteers together for education and fellowship are important. Every other year, a volunteer conference is held, and our 2010 conference has been planned to dovetail with the North American Lake Management Society’s International Symposium in Oklahoma City. The conference will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Dawson-Loeffler Science Center on the Oklahoma City University campus.
Blue Thumb volunteers, and other environmental volunteers as well, pay no fee to attend the conference, but they will pay a $7.00 fee for lunch in the OCU cafeteria on Saturday. Topics to be covered include:
Although the conference is free, registration is required. Contact Kim Shaw, Blue Thumb educator, at 405-522-4738 or 405-627-3787, or email Kim at kim.shaw@conservation.ok.gov .
