Mark Harrison, OCC information officer,  received a Conservation Commission Commendation at the March 2008 Commission meeting after being named Employee of the Quarter at the February full staff meeting. The nomination form commended Harrison for coordinating display booths at Tulsa, Chickasha and Enid Farm Shows, the Governor's Water Conference and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau annual convention. In addition, Harrison assisted the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts with its annual area meetings and helped with arrangements and news media materials for the signing of the first Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program at the state Capitol.

Following heavy rains that severely damaged parts of Oklahoma, Harrison arranged two aerial photography sessions. The photographs were then used in meetings with the Governor and Legislature that resulted a first-ever bond program for $25 million to help repair damaged conservation infrastructure. He helped prepared several packets of information and photos for use with the Governor and Legislature and participated in a tour of damaged areas hosted by Sen. Ron Justice, providing photographs, a PowerPoint presentation and a news release. In addition, Harrison continued his regular duties of managing the agency's newsletter, web page and media relations.
