Arnold Hamilton - Outstanding Cooperator, Pittsburg County Conservation District
Pittsburg County Conservation District honored OCC/AML part time employee Arnold Hamilton as Outstanding Cooperator at the district’s 28th Annual Bankers Awards Program on Oct. 21, 2008. Hamilton has been a cooperator with the district since 2005. He is a retired 35-year employee of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, having worked in Claremore as district conservationist and programs liaison. Arnold owns and leases land for a 1,300 acre cattle operation near Indianola. He has used conservation practices such as brush and timber management, pasture planting, grazing management, and nutrient management to improve his land and is very proud of the improvement he has achieved on grasses and his top notch livestock working facilities. Arnold advises youth to learn all they can about marketing their product in order to be successful farmers or ranchers. Arnold said he now realizes he retired from his federal government job to a two-man ranching job. Pittsburg CCD recognized Arnold or his hard work and good stewardship of our natural resources, we recognize Arnold with this outstanding cooperator award.
