MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dr. Birney

Welcome to the Council on Law Enforcement's home on the web. The relaunch of our website reflects both the rapid pace of technological change, but as well it signals significant shifts in student expectations. As an organization committed to serving the educational needs of our clients and learners, the new site provides both new functionality and a more intuitive, user-driven interface, as defined through feedback from our stakeholders.

Our mission is

To provide the citizens of Oklahoma with peace officers who are trained to be professional, ethical, conscientious, sensitive to needs of the public, knowledgeable and competent in identified learning objectives; and to protect the public by regulating private security in the State of Oklahoma through education and licensing requirements and to ensure licensees practice within the provision of the law.

To achieve this mission we continually review our curriculum to ensure we are utilizing the most up-to-date training material, using the best teaching methods, taught by the best instructors. We utilize instructors from all across the state, and where necessary, from across the U.S. CLEET will be posting new on-line courses throughout the year in order to provide a continuous learning environment.
CLEET has also begun the process of accreditation for the basic academy through The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

The campus in Ada has been established to provide one of the best learning environments for law enforcement training and public safety in the nation. Future development of the campus will focus on specialized and advanced training for Oklahoma’s seasoned officers by creating a vibrant center for law enforcement planning to prepare Oklahoma’s officers for emerging crimes or future trends. Training will be offered in conjunction with service organizations who interact with law enforcement officers such as social service agencies, so that the citizens of Oklahoma may best be served.

Please visit our site often for news updates and developments.
