Savings and Loans Associations were once commonly called Building and Loan Associations. Federal Savings and Loans prior to 2011 were regulated by Office of Thrift Supervision. On July 21, 2011 the Comptroller of the Currency became their regulator.
Records of Building and Loan Associations prior to statehood are extremely hard to obtain and those which have been found are listed in this report.
