"How To Get Your Agency Started"
Every agency has an online presence on the state's Web portal under the agency directory. However, in order to bring a larger online presence for improved government interactions, agencies must build Web sites and applications that allow their target audience to conduct government business online. Unfortunately, most agencies are not equipped to manage such a task, but OK.gov can help!
When working with OK.gov there is no need to release a Request for Proposal for Web application development and/or Web site construction. The Oklahoma Office of State Finance (OSF) has joined together with OK.gov to provide these services to you! Your agency will sign an agreement with OSF, and then OK.gov will work directly with your agency on all aspects of application development and/or Web site creation.
In many cases the easiest way to establish an online presence is to create a Web site for your agency. OK.gov offers a Content Management System that allows anyone with internet access to build a Web site. It is easy to use, requires no programming ability, and the text editor used to create Web site content bares resemblance to Microsoft Word. To learn more, please visit the OK.gov's Content Management System Web site.
Another important part of having a Web presence is building applications that drive your constituents to your Web site. OK.gov has the ability to leverage the expertise and best practices gained through partnerships in 18 other states during NIC Inc., Oklahoma Interactive's parent company, 15 years service. Through NIC, we have access to over 1,000 object-oriented eGovernment applications that can be customized to your agencies needs. Visit the online services page on www.ok.gov to view some of the applications OK.gov has built for many state agencies.
