OK.gov provides one-stop access to state government: a centralized electronic portal where citizens and businesses can easily access government information and services from multiple agencies. OK.gov operates as a public-private partnership between the state of Oklahoma and NIC Inc. to create an Internet gateway facilitating online interaction with Oklahoma government.
This partnership was formed to:
- Provide a user-friendly gateway for citizens to access government services.
- Develop electronic solutions that streamline internal government processes.
- Provide an effective means for online business interaction with government.
- Position Oklahoma as a leader in electronic government.

History
The Oklahoma portal has been in operation since 2001 and was previously named YourOklahoma until November 2004 when the portal was branded OK.gov. The portal is the result of House Bill 1662 of the Oklahoma Legislature and functions as a partnership between the Oklahoma Office of State Finance and leading eGovernment firm NIC Inc.

- Access Anytime: Provide Oklahoma citizens and businesses 24-hour access to state government information and services.
- Accessibility: Ensure sites are accessible to people with disabilities.
- Cost-containment: Build a comprehensive electronic gateway to government information and transactions, and do so without using tax dollars.
- Best Practices: Protect the privacy of users and fully inform them how their information will be used. OK.gov also uses industry best practices to protect the security of data transacted through the Web portal.
- Electronic Commerce: Focus on building electronic methods of doing business with government.
