Oklahoma Homeland Security Launches New Web site

Site features new services for citizens and public safety officials

OKLAHOMA CITY – September 7, 2007 – Oklahoma’s Office of Homeland Security has a new Web site located at http://www.homelandsecurity.ok.gov. The new Web site allows Oklahomans to sign up for threat level notifications, search a grant history database, view cyber security resources including internet safety tips and learn how to prepare their families for emergencies.

“Our new Web site gives us the opportunity to communicate more effectively with the public about all aspects of homeland security in Oklahoma. We are working to make Oklahoma safer, and timely, accurate information is a key component.  This Web site has many new features to keep Oklahomans better informed,” said Kerry Pettingill, Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security Director.

The new Web site also provides a training calendar and online registration for training which is geared toward Oklahoma’s first responders.  Users can create an account, view available training opportunities and sign-up for courses with a simple mouse click.

The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security invites Oklahoma citizens and public safety officials to visit their Web site to take advantage of the new services available.
