The Internet and web-based technology have changed the way that we all interact with the world around us. Web-based technology creates opportunities in education and social interaction that people would not have without it.
As we rely more and more on web-based technology to share information and opportunities we must work to make sure that we do not put barriers up that keep anyone from using web sites and web-based software. Quite the opposite, we want technology to open doors and create opportunity.
Oklahoma ABLE Tech provides technical assistance, training and consultation about web and digital accessibility and the standards and laws that make accessibility mandatory for agencies and institutions in the State of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma statute authorizes ABLE Tech to coordinate with the Office of Management and Enterprise Services to provide technical assistance to agencies concerning the requirements of EITA in Oklahoma. This technical assistance is intended solely as informal guidance; it is not a determination of the legal rights or responsibilities of entities subject to Oklahoma statute or Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act.
