Fall 2012 - Fall 2016
Twenty-six Oklahoma institutions of higher education working toward the same goal of making Oklahoma higher education more accessible to everyone. Over 150 individual project team members becoming accessibility aware and informed. An innovative effort that combines the resources and expertise of Oklahoma ABLE Tech, WebAIM, and the Southwest ADA Center at ILRU. The goal: to help institutions of higher education throughout Oklahoma create more accessible digital campus environments.
Over the course of the project, teams will receive targeted training and technical assistance from Oklahoma ABLE Tech, nationally recognized accessibility experts and WebAIM. Teams will create a feasible plan and expertise to develop a system-wide commitment to accessibility and the technical development skills to create functionally and technically accessible digital environments.
We are seeing some great strides taken by institutions. And, we have begun to identify some challenges that institutions might face as they work toward building a successful web accessibility initiative.
