While there are goals set out in the Web Accessibility in Higher Education Project (WAHEP) Memorandum of Understanding, institutions have a lot of freedom in how they implement their accessibility initiatives.
Over the last few months Oklahoma ABLE Tech has begun to work more closely with individual institutions. We are beginning to see first-hand what helps an initiative take root and grow. as well as recognizing some patterns. It’s time to share some of what we have learned.
In the rest of the article, ABLE Tech will examine three different institutions that tackle technology accessibility in different ways. We will take a quick look at how the different approaches create opportunities for success, and how some present challenges. In the end, institutions can probably relate to the stories that follow, adjust course and feel good about the direction your institution is going.
The institutions will not be named, but they are all part of the WAHEP.
