Mr. Jim Hughes
Jim Hughes began his law enforcement career with the Altus police Department in 1976. Serving as Chief of Police from 1987 to 1994. In 1994, Mr. Hughes was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve as United States Marshal for the Northern District of Oklahoma. In 2002 he went to Bethesda, Maryland and worked with private security company as project manager for security at the National Institutes of Health. Wanting to return to Oklahoma, Mr. Hughes joined the Ardmore Police Department as Chief of Police in 2003, serving until 2007. He was appointed Assistant Director of the ABLE Commission on Sept 4, 2007. Assistant Director Hughes has also served as Commissioner on the ABLE Commission from July 1990 to February 1994. He served as Chairman from July 1992 to June 1993. Mr. Hughes has two daughters, one son-in-law and one granddaughter in Tulsa area.
