Cyber Security Month
October is Cyber Security Month. The Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) was established in January 2003 to provide a collaborative mechanism to help states and local governments enhance cyber security. The MS-ISAC works in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), all of whom have declared October National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security and the Oklahoma Office of State Finance, Information Services Division work in cooperation to provide a comprehensive approach to help enhance the security of Oklahoma. Gov. Brad Henry has declared that October 2009 as Cyber Security Month in Oklahoma. This is an opportunity for everyone to be reminded that each of us has a personal responsibility to contribute to a "Safer Cyber Security Environment," whether at work, at school or at home.
