The Office of State Finance Information Services Division is seeking an senior data communications specialist. This is a full time, unclassified position in State government and will be eligible for a generous total rewards package. The purpose of this position is to engineer, implement, and support data communications. This position requires an individual knowledgeable in networking; network security; data communications technology standards; and networking topologies. Individual will ensure all scheduled support activities and project deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of user trust, satisfaction and confidence. An in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, concepts and networking technologies is required.
The principal activities include the following:
PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, engineering or related discipline with an information technology or telecommunications focus is preferred; and at least 4 years professional-level experience in implementation, operation and maintenance of large-scale networks, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms. Experience and knowledge in new computing architectures and implementation of networked computing structures; experience with intranet and internet development and implementation. An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting 1 year of experience in computer science, information technology, network implementation, disaster recovery and continuity planning or closely related field for each preferred year of education.
