The Office of State Finance is seeking an experienced financial analyst (certified public analyst I). This is a full time position in state government and will be eligible for a generous total rewards package. The financial analyst is a highly-responsible position which reports to the financial reporting supervisor in the Financial Reporting Unit (FRU). The FRU is charged with the complete accumulation, compilation and presentation of integral portions of the official annual financial report of the State of Oklahoma, known as the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The CAFR includes extensive written footnotes and explanatory information presented in accordance with authoritative and technical pronouncements which comprise the basis of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for governments. This includes required information related to the state’s capital assets.
This position will initially be responsible for 2 different but related major functions within the Division of Central Accounting and Reporting (DCAR). The level of emphasis in each of the 2 areas may change over time. This position uses personal computer systems for word processing, spreadsheet and graphic software applications, to produce the requisite schedules, charts, graphs, financial statements and reports. Knowledge of governmental accounting and an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for governments is encouraged. Additionally, knowledge of integrated database systems, ERP systems (including business intelligence tools), queries and strong writing skills are beneficial.
The principal activities include the following:
Candidates must be a Certified Public Accountant, with at least 2 years experience in an accounting or financial reporting environment. Must possess strong analytical, communication and personal computer skills, and must be a team-oriented person.
