The Office of State Finance Information Services Division is seeking an experienced Web Master. This is a full time position in STATE GOVERNMENT and will be eligible for a generous total rewards package. POSITION PURPOSE


The purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day maintenance of the Office of State Finance (OSF) websites, assuring that all web pages comply with established policies, guidelines and standards. This position will ensure the continual correctness, completeness and timeliness of information on the websites; coordinate and monitor website functions and activities; incorporate new website technologies; and enhance the websites as necessary. This position requires an individual knowledgeable in all facets of website development and content accessibility, with comprehensive knowledge of web development application packages, HTML, XML, scripting languages and web accessibility standards. Individual will establish direction and standards while maintaining a high level of user trust, satisfaction and confidence. A complete understanding of effective web design techniques and standards including user interface design, graphics creation, production and optimization for the web is required. This individual will coordinate with the State’s portal vendor – OK.gov.


 PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES


Coordinate and consult with management to establish priorities for website development and to plan, review and evaluate the OSF web pages

Create new web pages and update existing web pages as required 

Provide excellent customer service to all levels of users and encourage timeliness and accuracy of web page information and resolution of problems 

Develop web page infrastructure, utilize applications to ensure technical performance and assess new technologies for applicability to OSF website needs
Consult with and assist OSF departmental staff in designing, developing, streamlining and maintaining web pages. Web pages will meet the State standards defined by OSF and use the programming language adopted by OSF.
Develop a working knowledge of the OK.gov Content Management System 
Ensure compliance with applicable legal and accessibility requirements and OSF policies, guidelines and standards 
Participate in OK.gov meeting with state agencies and provide status of OK.gov projects to Director of Information Services Division 
Maintain and report web usage and access statistics
Research and stay current with developments and changes in web publishing techniques, and with emerging technologies in web-based applications and standards


PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Computer Science or Business; certification in web development, web design or related field, or 2 years professional level experience in a web-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in web development and website management applications or closely related field for each required year of education.

Preference may be given to applicants who possess the following:

Minimum of three years experience with web development and website management applications, including FrontPage, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated understanding of effective design techniques and standards including user interface design, graphics creation, and accessibility standards
Certified Internet Web (CIW) Website Designer certification
