The Office of State Finance Information Services Division is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager. This is a full time position in STATE GOVERNMENT and will be eligible for a generous total rewards package. POSITION PURPOSE


The purpose of this position is to organize and direct the systems quality assurance function of the Information Services Division. This position requires an individual knowledgeable in quality practices; information technology standards; source code management; documentation standards; systems, integration and user testing techniques and tools; software update and release management; process improvement methodology; project management methodology; metrics and measurements and business continuity. Also, required is experience working with different operating and data base environments including MVS, UNIX, DB2, Oracle, SQL, Linux, etc.


 
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES 


Lead an Enterprise Quality Assurance function which focuses on process improvement and quality practices

Direct the review, testing, packaging and distribution of information technology applications and software releases and upgrades

Organize and direct the activities required to manage application source code; system, user and application documentation

Direct development, control and monitoring of test environments
Direct development and maintenance of controlled test files and test cases
Direct development and maintenance of information technology standards
Direct development and maintenance of information technology standards, procedures and policy manuals and ensure adherence to the applicable QA standards, policies and procedures 
Direct research, recommendations, implementation and training on tools for configuration management, application testing and other productivity tools for application developers and testers
Develop matrices to keep appropriate levels of management and other affected groups and individuals informed of QA activities and results
Monitor status of process improvement and quality practices and report status to management

 

PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s Degree and six years related experience in information technology, systems quality assurance, Senior Systems analysts and business continuity planning and developing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis, Systems Quality Assurance or closely related field for each required year of education.

PREFERENCE may be given to applicants who possess the following:

Prior Quality Assurance management experience.
Experience and knowledge of PeopleSoft applications.
