Procurement Specialist The Office of State Finance Information Services Division is seeking a Procurement Specialist. This is a full time position in STATE GOVERNMENT and will be eligible for a generous total rewards package. POSITION PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to procure products, services and technology resources at the best overall cost. The position requires an individual knowledgeable in overall procurement, procedures and processes. The position reviews agency strategic information technology and telecommunication plans and determines if requests for procurement of information technology and telecommunication are included in the strategic plan; therefore, knowledge of procurement related to the installation, and maintenance of computer hardware and components, personal computers, servers, software, data and voice communications equipment and services, and supplies is important.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information technology or a closely related field, plus two years of experience involving contracting and purchasing for an agency or institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of technical experience in purchasing or in writing and/or reviewing purchase requisitions or specifications, for each year of the required education.
