Technician permits not renewed are canceled 30 days after expiration.

  • 2008-2009 Pharmacy Technician Permit Renewal
    • IMPORTANT! - Unless you are currently employed in a licensed Oklahoma pharmacy and under the immediate and direct supervision of a licensed Oklahoma pharmacist, the Board will not renew your technician permit.  You may apply for reinstatement of your technician permit upon re-employment in a licensed Oklahoma pharmacy.

  • Technician Permit REINSTATEMENT 
    • Canceled technicians cannot apply for a new permit.  Once a permit has been issued and then canceled (for whatever reason), you must reinstate that permit upon returning to work as a technician. 
    • Unless you are currently employed in a licensed Oklahoma pharmacy and under the immediate and direct supervision of a licensed Oklahoma pharmacist, the Board will not reinstate your technician permit.
    • Permit will expire annually on the last day of birth month.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How old do you have to be to apply for a pharmacy technician permit?
A: Technician applicants MUST have either a High School Diploma or a GED before they can apply for a permit.

Q: I have a tax hold on my permit. What does that mean?
A: The Oklahoma Tax Commission places a "tax hold" on technicians who are not in compliance with state income tax laws. The Board cannot process any application that has a hold. Call 405-522-6800 to get your hold released.
