Storms Deliver Damage to Oklahoma Communities

June 5, 2005 - The State Emergency Operactions Center (EOC) received the following damage reports related to the severe storms that moved through Oklahoma June 4-5. Power lines and trees are down in many areas. Preliminary damage assessments are on-going. There are no requests for state assistance at this time. EOC staff remains in contact with emergency managers in the affected areas.

Henryetta Emergency Management

Three homes with major damage, numerous businesses with roofs off. Heavy power outages across area. No injuries.

 

Jefferson County Emergency Management

Damage to trees and power lines all over county due to high winds and rain. Heavy damage in the Waurika Lake area, where campers, trailers and tents were damaged.  Power outages reported, heaviest in Ringling area. No injuries. 

 

Kay and Osage County Emergency Management Departments

Damage in the area of McCord, small community located east of Ponca City. One house destroyed, one house with roof destroyed, three barns destroyed, power lines and tree limbs down. Five treated and released from area hospitals.
