2013 Legislative Activities
The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission has requested two bills to be considered during the 2013 legislative session: HB 1526 and HB 1527 by Rep. Gary Banz and Sen. Mike Schulz. Both bills involve the Center for Aerospace Supplier Quality (CASQ), a program administered by the Aeronautics Commission that assists Oklahoma companies in their efforts to garner contracts from the Department of Defense and its prime contractors. HB 1526 changes the name of CASQ by adding the word "Defense" in its title. If approved, the program would officially be known as the Center for Aerospace and Defense Supplier Quality. HB 1527 is a request for a $500,000 appropriation to operate the CASQ program. To view the most recent action taken with each bill, please click on their separate links below:
The Aeronautics Commission also supports HB 1009 by Rep. Mike Brown and Sen. Sean Burrage, which limits the liability of landowners on whose land certain aviation activities occur, such as aircraft landings and takeoffs. To see the most recent action for HB 1009, please click here.
