General Information
Information Services (ISD) is responsible for managing and providing mission critical technology solutions to the program units of the Department of Central Services.
ISD utilizes emerging technologies while leveraging its investment in existing resources to fully meet the current and to anticipate future needs of the agency. In order to align the Information Services mission to the Agency's mission, we dedicate resources to knowing our customers and maintain high-level communication about each program's mission.
ISD sets realistic business objectives, defines a sound architecture and attempts to gain full agreement on each project plan we undertake. We then constantly measure our performance by closely monitoring network down-time, customer incident reports and systems usage indicators.
In addition to providing technical consulting and technical strategic direction, ISD is responsible for network resources, workstations and business application software.
- Network Resources:
ISD manages and maintains a ``state of the art" gigabyte fiber optic network environment that is capable of providing the high bandwidth and information storage needs of current and future web enabled applications, such as CORE Oklahoma (PeopleSoft).
- Workstations:
ISD manages and maintains a fleet of over two hundred (200) state of the art PC workstations in multiple locations including the Will Rogers Building, Central Printing, Fleet Management, Property Distribution, State Surplus, Tulsa and Ada state buildings. The standard workstation configuration consists of Microsoft Windows 2000 with Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser with AS400, VAX, or IBM 3290 mainframe emulation available.
- Business Application software:
ISD manages Notes groupware and Domino databases plus Sybase database applications. We provide design and development resources for the Department of Central Services website. The AS400 hosts several System 36 legacy systems that provide limited functions for invoicing, AR, AP and some unique functions for Fleet Management, Risk Management, Central Printing and Finance.
