STATEWIDE CONFERENCE ON THE ARTS
INFORMATION NOW ONLINE
Arts success stories shared on November 12-14, 2008
Oklahoma City, OK --The Oklahoma Arts Council will sponsor the 2008 Statewide Arts Conference on November 12-14, 2008 in Enid, Oklahoma.
Executive Director Suzanne Tate said the theme of the conference is “Telling Our Own Story” and will focus on success stories fueled by personal experiences right here in Oklahoma. “The conference is an opportunity for participants to share their strategies for advancing the arts in Oklahoma,” said Tate.
Fundraising, community cultural development and a forum for new and emerging arts leaders are just a few of the topics that will be presented during the three-day conference. Tate added that she hopes arts and community leaders, elected officials, artists and educators will join us for the annual conference.
Keynote speaker will be bestselling author Rilla Askew, a fifth generation Oklahoman whose fiction is deeply grounded in the Oklahoma landscape and character. Her most recent novel, Harpsong (2007) was published by the University of Oklahoma Press.
Registration, lodging, conference schedule and scholarship information is available on the Statewide Arts Conference Blog.
